Bitget’s Anti-Scam Month: Empowering Users Against Crypto Fraud Tactics

Bitget, the prominent cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 platform, has successfully wrapped up its 2025 Anti-Scam Month, a global initiative aimed at enhancing user awareness and resilience against Web3 scams. The month-long campaign included various activities such as gamified education tools, strategic partnerships, and insightful research to combat the rising threat of AI-driven scams and security breaches in the crypto space.

One of the key highlights of the initiative was the Smarter Eyes Challenge, an interactive comic-based game that simulated real-world scam scenarios, including phishing attacks, social engineering tactics, and fake token approvals. While initially, only a small percentage of participants managed to identify all traps, over 65% successfully navigated through all levels with the help of guided security tips, showcasing a significant improvement in awareness and preparedness.

Bitget also published six in-depth blog posts focusing on common attack vectors like SMS spoofing, fraudulent apps, and high-risk tokens. Subsequent security tests revealed that over 80% of users scored full marks, indicating a notable enhancement in fraud detection capabilities following the educational content provided by the campaign.

Furthermore, Bitget released its 2025 Anti-Scam Research Report in collaboration with renowned blockchain security firms SlowMist and Elliptic. The report highlighted that global losses due to crypto scams exceeded $4.6 billion in 2024, with advanced technologies like deepfakes and social engineering being the primary drivers of high-value attacks. The findings underscored the increasing sophistication of AI-powered fraud schemes, including the use of synthetic videos of public figures, Trojan-infected job offers, and fake video calls to deceive victims.

    Expert Insights on Crypto Security

According to Sam Boolman, ChainIntel’s lead analyst, initiatives like Bitget’s Anti-Scam Month play a crucial role in educating users and strengthening the overall security posture of the crypto community. He emphasizes that education is key to mitigating risks and fostering a safer digital asset environment.

During the Anti-Scam X Space discussion, industry experts including representatives from Hacken, GoPlus, BlockSec, and Security Alliance shared valuable insights on future risks, the importance of collaboration, and the need for a unified defense strategy involving users, platforms, and security entities. Yevheniia Broshevan, Co-Founder & CBDO at Hacken, commended Bitget’s initiative, highlighting the significance of raising awareness and empowering users to combat potential threats.

Michael Lewellen, Technical Council at Security Alliance, emphasized that while achieving absolute security may be challenging, creating robust defense mechanisms can deter threat actors and protect the community. He stressed the importance of sharing threat intelligence among blockchain platforms, compliance tools, and security firms to build a cohesive security framework.

    Perpetual Anti-Scam Resources

The Bitget Anti-Scam Center, now operational year-round, offers users continuous access to valuable security resources, real-time scam alerts, official verification channels, and a crypto safety kit with round-the-clock global support. This initiative aims to establish a reliable source of information and assistance for the crypto community in combating fraudulent activities.
