Ethereum and Solana Lead Staking Charts as Newcomers Make Strides: July 2025 Report
A recent report on staking leaders in July 2025 showcases Ethereum and Solana as dominant forces in the crypto space, with newcomers also gaining ground. Ethereum (ETH) stands out with an impressive $93.1 billion locked in staking, boasting a modest 2.98% reward rate. Its longstanding reputation and significant market value continue to attract retail and institutional stakers alike.
Solana (SOL) follows closely behind Ethereum, securing a substantial $61.4 billion stake with an enticing 7.28% reward rate. The rapid growth and popularity of Solana’s ecosystem have propelled it to the forefront of the staking arena.
Top Projects by Total Staked Value: The total worth staked indicates the collective USD value of tokens engaged in staking. The list includes Ethereum, Solana, SUI, BNB, BUZZ, ADA, BTC, APT, AVAX, DOT, HBAR, TAO, IP, and SEI.
SUI emerges as a strong contender in third place with a stake of $22.3 billion and a reward rate of 2.31%. Despite being a relatively new player, SUI’s unique data structure and scalable decentralized applications (dApps) have garnered significant attention from users and developers.
BNB Chain secures the fourth spot with $20.2 billion in staked value and a 1.22% reward rate. The trust and efficiency of the Binance ecosystem, coupled with the growth of decentralized finance (DeFi) and GameFi applications on BNB Smart Chain, have contributed to its solid performance.
Hyperliquid (BUZZ) and Cardano (ADA) maintain competitive stakes in the market, with Hyperliquid amassing over $16.4 billion in staking and offering a 2.29% reward. The platform’s success underscores the growing demand for innovative decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and perpetual contracts that prioritize transparency.
Additionally, Aptos (APT), a Layer 1 project known for its scalability and security, boasts a staked value of $3.92 billion and a lucrative 7% reward rate. Meanwhile, Hedera (HBAR) holds a staked value of $2.57 billion, accompanied by a minimal reward rate of 0.03%.
